For many, the war in April 1865, is one of the most important events in the recent history of the Dominican Republic.
Who lived through those times show that this conflict started when he was overthrown the best president had been elected at that time Professor Juan Bosch.
The coup d'état against Juan Bosch was a negative impact on society, which forced a group of young officers treat to restore the constitutional government of Juan Bosch.
Bosch was the first democratically elected in the polls after the death of the tyrant Rafael Leonidas Trujillo Molina, who ruled with an iron hand for 30 shameful years.

This Constitution, considered the best which is done at home, by the vision of banning Bosch also monopolies, ownership of extensive land and many other innovative projects that caused various sectors accused Professor Bosch and his government of "communists."
Sponsored by the minority parties that lost in the December elections, the military appointed a triumvirate to run the country chaired by Emilio de los Santos and composed of Drs Ramon Tapia Espinal and Manuel Tavares Espaillat.
The political grouping June 14 is up in arms in the Dominican mountains declaring open war against the triumvirate.
Your guide Manuel Aurelio Tavarez Justo, is shot in the section The Manacles, municipality of San Jose de las Matas in the Cordillera Central, near the Well sabanetero Francisco Zapata, among others.
The guerrilla uprising were cowardly murdered 32 men of valor and courage who wanted to change the way then government and all were members of the political group June 14.
These crimes caused a public outrage and motivation, on the other hand, the resignation of the chairman of the Triumvirate, Emilio de los Santos.
With the rise of Donald Reid Cabral to the triumvirate presidency of the country's economic situation deteriorates, will reach agreements with the International Monetary Fund while the misery suffered by marginalized sectors intensifies, increased administrative corruption.
That motivated a group of young officers, coordinated by bright young officer Colonel Rafael Tomás Fernández Domínguez, will join in the barracks conspiracies in order to address the growing popular clamor powerful, demanding the constitution of 1963 without elections, thus succumbing to make chaired by Reid Triumvirate Cabral.
Today 46 years later, with the complicity of poor Dominicans, Americans continue to trample our sovereignty, the tricolor flag, the coat with the presence of military bases and direct interventions in the decision making of the Republic.
Someday, then, these bad Dominicans now deliver all the gringos, and although physically disappear leave their spores, the good men and women in the home of Juan Pablo Duarte know how to defend even his own blood if necessary.
